Even though it doesn't seem like it today, spring has been coming early this year. The flowering trees are already blooming; the daffodils have been shining their beautiful faces at us. Below are some thoughts I wrote last spring that fit perfectly with my experience of early spring:
After winter’s dormancy, just as the plants are pushing up from the earth and buds are pushing out from the trees, we start waking up and pushing out. We spring clean. We clean the house and yard and rid our homes of stuff we don't need anymore.
We can also spring clean ourselves, our bodies, and our energies. Along with cleaning out old habits, we don’t need anymore, we can also get rid of the wrong kind of pushing: our excess energies. Here I'm speaking of the anxieties, the restlessness, the compulsive need to do, do, do.
This week, let’s enjoy some mindful twists, cleaning our bodies of toxins and any excess energy that keeps us from a calm enjoyment of this beautiful season we are entering.
Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful. ~William Morris
Your real life begins after putting your house in order. ~Marie Kondo
What I know for sure is that when you declutter – whether it’s on your home, your head, or your heart – it is astounding what will flow into that space that will enrich you, your life, and your family. ~Peter Walsh
Get rid of clutter, you may just find it was blocking the door you have been looking for. ~Katrina Mayer
Spring cleaning isn't just about sorting through things and getting rid of clutter. It's about taking stock of who you are, and how others see you. It's a chance to redefine yourself, to change expectations, and to remember that it's never too late to recapture who you were, or to aim for who you want to be.~The Super Organizer
Spring Cleaning isn’t just for your home, or just for the Spring for that matter. ~Dondria B. Johnson
