In this Solar Flow, you will energize and strengthen your body, mind, and breath. Larger yoga principles will be woven into a steadily paced warm up, an energizing standing sequence, and a flexibility-focused cool down. This class is most appropriate for practitioners with some level of yoga experience, including a familiarity with asana poses.

Join Belinda for a two-part online workshop series that will offer Āyurvedic self-care tools specific for the fall season. We’ll explore the qualities that are predominant in the environment during the autumn season and the ways to balance these same qualities in our own bodies to reinstate equilibrium. Vagal Toning to Calm the Nervous System

In this all-level yoga workshop you will discover the vagus nerve’s central role in your health and well being. The Latin root of “vagus” means wandering. The vagus nerve wanders all over the body, connecting the brain with all the major organs. We will focus on postures specifically related to it, along with energy-balancing movements, and a short yoga nidra (yogic rest). You will come away with simple tools you can use every day to ward off anxiety and depression, reduce stress, heal trauma, and be your best.

Writing from the Heart is a technique that clarifies and connects us to our own inner landscape, where, letting go of the ego’s idea of how things should be, we open more fully to the almost magical experience of how things are. The combination of remembrance, connecting to our own version of higher power or the universe, and “writing without stopping” can produce insights and breakthroughs not usually seen without years of writing practice. We remove the constrictions that keep us bound and our writing begins to flow.

Kundalini with Kati continues this weekend!
Kundalini yoga incorporates the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga into a cohesive and integrated system. It is perfect for people who want both the immediate and long-term physical benefits of yoga and the transformative power of an uplifted consciousness.
Kundalini yoga is practiced in kriya form. A kriya is a “complete action;” a series of exercises, postures, breathwork, and mantras that are purposefully combined to have a calibrated overall effect. These four classes will benefit your immune and glandular system, ability to deal with difficult emotion and open your heart.
No previous experience with yoga or kundalini yoga is necessary. An open mind, however, is a must.

Yoga is an energy management system called nadis. Yoga poses, breathing practices and mudras are practiced to build awareness of blockages or challenges of the nadis. This is step one. Often there can be emotional and physical holding in this area that can contribute to physical and energetic binding. After cultivating an awareness of the subtle body, one can then apply yoga poses and pranayama to effect change. The pelvis is the transmission station of the feet and legs to communicate with the upper body. And the pelvic floor is the seat of the root chakra which is usually associated with the earth element. Come explore the lower body energy and chakra systems.

Camille’s yoga journey began in San Francisco. Back in 2013, she was a college athlete looking for a new fitness outlet and stumbled upon her first class: A Power Level 3 flow. It was the craziest, hardest experience she’d encountered in a long time and she was instantly hooked.
Since that first practice, Camille has taken yoga classes throughout California and always loved it as a form of movement, but it wasn’t until the pandemic that she began to learn about what yoga really means. Like many, self-care and discovery became a central part of quarantine life, and through this, she began her daily meditation practice. More and more yoga teachers that she discovered combined yoga and mindfulness in a way she had never seen before. Asana became a journey of self study. This encouraged her to deepen her knowledge of yoga’s roots and purpose, which eventually led her to Yoga District’s 200-hour training in DC.
Now that her 200 hours are complete, she is eager and excited to share what she’s learned with others. Her classes will always have an emphasis on Svadhyaya, or self-study, and will encourage every practitioner to use yoga to deepen their relationship with self and higher purpose.
