Tricia Kull

Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, blood vessels, nerves, and organs. When it’s healthy, fascia allows your muscles to slide and glide as you move. But when your fascia gets tight and stuck, it can restrict your movement.  In this monthly workshop, we will focus on a particular area of the body to help release layers of fascia using props, techniques, and yoga poses. The goal of this workshop is to help decrease tension, improve body awareness, and release fascial “stuckness” so that tissues slide and glide more easily.  Everyone welcome.

Fall session TBA!

Carol Mermey

With the disruption that currently surrounds us, it’s easy to feel stressed and overwhelmed. Yoga Nidra, a guided meditative practice, can help you find a source of internal stability and resilience.  It can ease tension and fatigue, calm the nervous system, and restore energy.

Shift Your Vibration: Sound Healing

Dante Baker

Have you ever asked, “What does raising your vibration mean?” Everything in our existence is in a constant state of vibration. Every bone, organ, and system of the body is in the form of vibration, and therefore it is putting out a frequency. Resonance is the normal healthy vibration of an object, and everything has a resonance frequency. The human body is like an extraordinary orchestra in that each cell plays in harmony with the one next. When the cells in the body are in a healthy state of resonance, then we call that sound health, and when they play out of harmony with each other, we call that dis-ease. In this workshop, we learn how to influence our frequency by practicing breathing exercises, meditations, and vocal toning. All these exercises will be accompanied by the melodic sounds of crystal singing bowls, antique metal singing bowls, wooden drone flutes, pan drums, and chimes. Sign up today and begin your journey to harmonize the mind, body, and spirit.

Sundays: 11/6, 11/20, 12/4

Anatomy & Poetry of Breath

Kristin Leal

Often translated quickly as control or restraint (yama) of energy (prana), a deeper look at pranayama reveals a richer definition of “to expand the dimensions (ayama) of your life force (pran)”. In this workshop we will begin to explore the breath first from an anatomical view but also see how this begins to weave an energetic poetry through the tapestry of our asana and life. Students will begin to experience their breath as both a metaphor as well as a practical and profound tool to return to our balanced and blissful state.

Kristin’s book, MetaAnatomy: A Modern Yogi’s Practical Guide to the Physical and Energetic Anatomy of Your Amazing Body is available in the boutique for 25% off through 12/10/2022.

Winter Warmer

James Foulkes

During the Winter Months our energies tend to naturally be drawn inwards as nature  becomes still and the cold weather and long nights draw in.

But something deeper is at work.

The Water energy of Winter is an expression of Maximum Yin and Responsiveness. We  will balance the Yin nature of the gentle cleansing stretches and breathwork with  complementary Yang practices, whilst using meditation, to support the sustaining of our  energetic field through the colder months working with the active kidney and bladder  energy.

This time is also one of incubating ideas and intentions to manifest in the Spring. We will establish multi-layered intentions to blossom in the forthcoming year by peering  into the shadows of Winter through journeying. All Students of all levels are welcome.

Your Inner Knower – Your Platform for Action

Martha Hare

This workshop is for those of us who want to explore the interplay of developing our inner knower with showing up in the larger world as a vibrant active contributor. We will first turn within through practices drawn from meditation, contemplation, and hatha yoga.  Then, we will prepare to emerge from the inner space so resonant with winter darkness by engaging with other seekers through active listening. In this way, we will creatively assess what practices best support our inner exploration so we can act from a caring place grounded within ourselves.  Be sure to bring a pen and paper.

This workshop is for anyone who feels the need to use their spiritual work for the benefit of the greater world.  Or, for those who are activists but perhaps at the expense of care for themselves.  The different experiences of participants will enrich the group and allow us to learn from each other.

A Celebration of Light

Cheryl Kravitz

At this time of year, we honor many holidays – Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Solstice, and others around the world. What we find in most holidays this time of year is the theme of light. It is a time of darkness in the natural world – short days and long nights. Whether we are honoring the light of the sun, the flickering glow of a candle, or the sparkle of Christmas lights, we all have what is called inner light, which Patanjali, in Yoga Sutra I.26, says is free from grief or sorrow.

Join Cheryl Kravitz on Saturday, December 24th for a class to celebrate the light we all bring to the world. We will practice simple asana, breathwork, and yoga nidra.
